Megumi & Friends

A Volks Tour of Japan

Fushimi & Nara

Ume: This is the biggest fox yet!

Ume: And this poor little one is all broken up.

So, these are the famous tori.

And they went on.

And on.
Megumi: I'm getting tired already.
Me: I'm sure that we'll be out soon...I hope.

About half way up, Megumi poses with a pair
of fox next to a pond.

Ume with some Ume-sized tori.

And Megu-chan with some Megumi-sized ones.

At the top, there were a fabulous bronze
fountain shaped like a fox with a piece of
fresh bamboo as the spout. Note the beautiful
fall foliage in the background.

In Nara, Robert tries to escape the "tame" deer.
I knew that it was a mistake to feed them.

I'm having better luck with this one, but another
one had already bitten me on the butt.

Yes, that is a real cat in the shrine.
