Me: Aren't those doll eating fish back there?
Ume: Stop it!

There really is an Ume in the cave somewhere.

And there's a Megumi somewhere in this Jizo shrine too.

Megumi: I like bamboo and this one is really big.

I was worried that one of the giant eagles that were flying
around would swoop down and get my little boy, but Megu-chan
seemed unconcerned.

Megumi: That Buddha doesn't look that big.
Me: Wait until we get closer.

Ume: Wee! More tiny foxes!
